1 Check-in that parents can trust
Dropping a child at church should feel safe and simple. Free Church ChMS includes secure check-in at no charge: every check-in gets a pickup security code, allergies show up where volunteers will see them, and the guardian can get the code by text.
2 What it does
Details are in the check-in article and the pages for Check-In, Family Safety and the Self-Check-In Kiosk.
3 Set up in four steps
- Add children and their guardians to your people records, with guardian phone numbers and any allergies.
- On Sunday, open People, Check-In and pick the service.
- Check the child in. Print the tag. The code is on it.
- At pickup, the parent shows the code, and the volunteer checks the child out.
Common questions
Is the check-in software really free?
Yes. Check-in is part of Free Church ChMS, which is free for every church with no tiers. You pay only for your own hosting. Text alerts use your own Twilio account if you choose to turn them on.
How does the pickup security code work?
When a child is checked in, a unique code is generated and printed on the name tag. The parent keeps a matching code, by text if you enable it, and the volunteer matches them at pickup.
Can parents check in by themselves?
Yes. A QR code or a touchscreen kiosk page lets people check themselves in. A kiosk mode resets after each person so the next family starts fresh.
Does it work on a tablet or touchscreen?
Yes. It runs in a web browser, so a tablet, a touchscreen display or a laptop all work. Large displays are supported.
